At first, a twenty-niner with aluminium frame sounds like an anachronism these days. Instead, the German brand Rose presents a respectable frame, rigid and lively, designed for racing and technical touring. Despite its classical frame material, the bike offers very innovative features, like internal cable routing, BB30 bottom bracket and oversized head tube. Moreover, it comes with top-quality components, like the DT Swiss wheel set.
Verdict: rigid frame made from 7005 aluminium, probably too rigid for tours lasting more than four hours. Rose pays attention to every detail. Recommendation: fun bike with racing soul. Excellent value for money.
