Here's how to properly mount your bags on the Backroad AL

The bags for your Backroad AL feature a secure screw-on system that also protects your bike's paint and ensures a clean look. Assembly takes just a few simple steps.

You need

  • Hex wrench, 3 mm (for Top Tube Bag only)
  • Torque wrench incl. bits

Installing the Top Tube Bag

  • First, remove the plugs from the threaded holes on the top tube. The best tools for this are your fingernails or a flat, non-scratching tool (e.g., credit card).

  • Now place the open Top Tube Bag over the threaded holes and screw the included screws into the frame threads from above. Then tighten them with a torque wrench to a maximum of 2 Nm.

  • As a final step, wrap the included elastic band around the spacers (below the handlebars) and secure it to the bag on both sides.

Installing the Frame Bag

  • First, remove the plugs from the threaded holes on the top tube. The best tools for this are your fingernails or a flat, non-scratching tool (e.g., credit card).

  • Now place the open Top Tube Bag over the threaded holes and screw the included knurled screws into the frame threads from above. Tighten them by hand just enough so that you don't have to use any force.

  • Check from time to time to make sure the screws are still tight.
